The SPEED-DUALLINE 10G module is designed as an flexible and high data rate transponder. Depending on customers requirements this module offers both, two SFP+ to two XFP ports. The module supports two flexible XFP ports suitable for wavelength conversion (850 nm, 1310 nm, 1550 nm, CWDM/DWDM or tunable optics) while the optical power budget (up to 15 dB/approx. 40 km distance) and the transferring application (10 GbE, 10 GFC, STM-64) are individually defined. The SPEED-DUALLINE 10G converts two independent 10.3 Gbps Ethernet signals into a corresponding wavelength in CWDM and DWDM network infrastructures. Combined with the 3R functionality (Reamplification, Re-shaping and Re-timing) a transmission of 10G Ethernet over long distances can be implemented.

Another field of application for the SPEEDDUALLINE 10G 2R XFP is the interface conversion of SFP+ or SFP to XFP. The SPEED-DUALLINE 10G 2R XFP can be used for existing 10 Gigabit systems like 10 Gigabit Ethernet switches to achieve long distances (up to 40 km). Thus existing 10 Gigabit systems are not restricted to installed 10 Gigabit optics which are limited to a few kilometers.
