Service Demarcation

Ethernet demarcation device (EDD) or Network interface device (NID) are interchangeable terms used to describe a device that acts as the boundary point where the network operators service ends and the customers begins. The device provides the customer with access to the service provider's network while also allowing the service provider to control access, monitor performance and enforce service-level agreements.
